We are excited to announce that after months of designing and prototyping, we are finally shipping the first batch of Raise Tenting Kits! 🎉
The last few months have been far from smooth sailing. But you know how the saying goes, "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor." And if you know how we operate at Dygma, we aim to be the most excellent sailors in our industry!
In our quest for excellence, we did experience quality issues with some components. During the last few weeks of quality control, we had to discard a bit less than 25% of the units in order to meet our high standards.
As a result, that 25% (roughly 120 units) will be shipped along with the second batch, scheduled for September 25.
We feel terribly disappointed that we cannot ship all of the units for the first batch. We had already given an allowance in case of delays, but we regrettably underestimated the circumstances 😕

What caused the delay?
For those who have read our other development stories, you would know perfection is always expected. So yes, I guess we are a little bit crazy 😅 We only want to ship the best product for all our Dygmates.
Our ambitious approach
Our design for the Raise Tenting Kit has always been ambitious. It is the only tenting kit out there that has met the requirements for functionality - with its adjustable angles (0º, 10º, 20º, 30º, 40º), aesthetics - it is made of high-quality materials, and long-lasting stability.
Despite such a bold approach and the fact that manufacturing a small batch has its own problems, everything was going according to plan... until it was not anymore.
This is what happened
While sample testing during production, we noticed that the glue for the silicone cover of the metal legs wasn't strong enough. We decided to change the glue for one that was more adhesive. However, upon closer inspection, we noticed that the new glue would overflow from the silicone feet and leave white marks.
This was a big no for us.
After trying different things, we decided that the best solution would be to use special metal paint to cover the glue marks.
To do that, we had to disassemble the legs of all the tenting kits that were already assembled, put the correct glue on the rubber feet, paint the legs, and assemble them again.
However, during the process, we encountered another problem.
While we were disassembling and assembling the legs, some of the screws broke. This was because we miscalculated the tolerances of the screws. Also, this meant that some of the other components linked to them, such as the legs and shafts, became unusable.
We did have spare components in case of a situation like this. However, we didn't have enough.
In addition, some tenting kits didn't pass the strict in-house quality control due to minor aesthetic issues.
Who has been affected by the delay?
Only less than 25% of the pre-orders have been affected. The first 75% of those who pre-ordered can expect to get their tenting kits to be shipped on time; between August 25 and September 1. But the last 25% who pre-ordered can expect their tenting kits by September 25, along with the second batch of tenting kits.
You can expect to receive an email from us in the next few days, either with your tracking number or telling you that your order will be delayed.
