A couple of months ago, we released the highly awaited Dye-Sub PBT keycaps for the Dygma Defy.
Since then, many of you have praised their textured finish, thickness, and thockness. In other words, how deep and satisfying they sound when typing.
At the same time, we received another recurring request from the community:
Can we get them without legends?
You asked, and we’re here to deliver.
Without further ado, here they are: the new blank PBT keycaps for the Dygma Defy.
These keycaps are identical to our Dye-Sub PBT set in every aspect that affects feel and sound — except for one key difference: they come with no legends at all.

These blank PBT keycaps feature the same textured surface, thick walls, and clean matte finish as the Dye-Sub PBT keycaps.
For reference, a standard double-shot keycap usually has a wall thickness of around 1.1 mm and weighs approximately 1.25 g. These blank PBT keycaps, however, have 1.8 mm walls and weigh 1.65 g.

That extra material translates directly into a deeper sound profile and a more premium, solid feel when typing.
The trade-off is simple and intentional: these are single-shot keycaps, so there are no legends or dashes for RGB lighting to shine through.

If you’re curious about how different types of keycaps are manufactured and why those differences matter, we recommend checking out our in-depth video on the topic.
Blank keycaps are perfect for anyone looking to give their keyboard a minimalist look, though we personally think of it as stealthy. After all, nobody can tell what you’re typing.

They’re also an excellent option if you use alternative keyboard layouts such as Dvorak, Colemak, or Engram. With no legends on the keycaps, there’s nothing to distract or confuse you.
And if you work in languages other than English, or you’ve customized your QWERTY layout, blank keycaps give you complete freedom.

As a bonus, these blank PBT keycaps can also be used as a template for custom legends.

Using acrylic markers, you can add your own characters, symbols, or reminders directly to the keycaps. For example, we’ve customized a set to match a personalized Engram layout, including the Spanish Ñ and additional functions printed on the side of the keycaps.

While this isn’t the most elegant or permanent solution, and the markers will wear over time, it can be surprisingly useful, especially when transitioning from QWERTY to a new layout.
And if you ever want to go back to a clean look, the markings can be easily and safely removed with isopropyl alcohol.

Whether you prefer blank keycaps or the version with legends, now is the perfect time to get them.
Both sets are 20% off until January 31st.

As always, we’d love to hear what you think.
